About Me.

Born in 1998 in the San Francisco Bay Area, Tucker Somberg is American filmmaker.

Before beginning his career in film, Tucker studied Philosophy at Boston College. Wrestling with the works of philosophers like Kant and Nietzsche both reignited and sharpened Tucker’s lifelong fascination with storytelling.

After completing his degree in 2020, Tucker returned to the Bay Area where he worked for several years in the mobile gaming industry. Still searching for proper medium to share his stories, Tucker returned to school to pursue his MFA in Film Production at Loyola Marymount University.

At LMU, Tucker specialized in Directing Fiction. Tucker shadowed his professors with great care while he served as a teaching assistant and honed his voice as a writer-director.

Upon graduating in 2025, Tucker received both the Program Scholar Award for the highest GPA along with the Departmental Award for Excellence in Filmmaking.

Now based in Los Angeles, Tucker enters the industry with his thesis film Gordon and Son, a drama that explores legacy, power, and the devastation of becoming someone you never meant to be.
